Using the exhibition as a springboard for your imagination, we’ll explore a range of ideas, such as what beauty means to you, your memories of shopping and what the store of the future might be like. We’ll use short writing activities to approach writing across a range of forms with a spirit of exploration, playfulness and fun.
These workshops are for anyone who wants to have a go at writing in a relaxed and supportive environment. No previous experience is necessary. Each workshop is different and standalone – attend all four or as many as you can.
Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. Refreshments will be available.
Counter Culture is part of a wider research project called Chemists to the Nation, Pharmacy to the World: Exploring the Global Dimensions of British Healthcare and Beauty with Boots the Chemists, 1919-1980 which is supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
