We have attempted to follow relevant standard and good practice for accessibility and usability while developing this website, including the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. For example, that means you should be able to:

• change colours, contrast levels and fonts;
• use zoom to enlarge the text;
• navigate most of the website using just a keyboard;
• navigate most of the website using speech recognition software;
• listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible, for example:

• Some parts of the navigation and headings may not always appear in the most logical order if you are using assistive technologies to navigate the page.
• Most documents, of which there are few, are in PDF format. Where possible we have designed these PDFs to be accessible for those using assistive technology, however some PDFs may not be accessible.
• Some of our videos and audio content do not have descriptive text transcripts or audio description tracks.
• We use third-party services to power our newsletter sign-up form, online ticket bookings, donations and memberships. Some elements of these services may not be accessible to those using keyboard navigation or assistive technology.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 A and AA standards. Although we aim for full compliance, we are yet to conduct an in-depth, user-led audit of our new website and we would not want to claim full compliance before doing so.

We regularly look for non-compliant issues, update this Accessibility Statement, and work with our website developers to fix issues as soon as is possible. We have also explained below where we believe resolving issues would be a disproportionate burden to Lakeside Arts.

Non-compliant issues to be fixed

We are currently not aware of content and features that are non-accessible.

Disproportionate burden

We’ve assessed the cost and resources needed to fix the issues below and believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.

• The ChooseSeats.aspx Spektrix iframe is not compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standards. It is currently not possible to select seats in this iframe using a keyboard or assistive technology, as each seat acts like a separate object which the user has to manually move between in order to get to the next one. The design and implementation of this functionality is beyond our control, however Spektrix are currently investigating possible solutions to this issue.
• We use content from a number of third-parties on our website. The design and implementation of these are not under our control, and therefore they are exempt from the accessibility regulations. However, we make them accessible where we can and raise any other issues with these suppliers.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

This website was launched in May 2024 and was designed to be accessible. Improving accessibility across the site is at the heart of our website development roadmap and includes:

• Conducting a full website accessibility audit and user testing to inform future website development.
